Lancashire law firm Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall invests in cloud computing

A Lancashire law firm has invested in a new cloud-based IT system in a bid to unlock growth.

Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall has installed document-hosting software, as well as new financial and case-management systems, across its seven offices in Accrington, Blackburn, Bury, Bacup, Rawtenstall, Great Harwood and Haslingden.

The upgrade will allow the firm’s legal specialists to work on-the-go from the premises of their clients while slashing the amount of time spent on administrative tasks. Additionally, the new system is expected to provide greater security for stored client records.

Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall’s finance director, Mike Gillibrand, said: “More of our solicitors are working offsite, on the move with clients, and our cloud-based software will give them the tools to bring greater efficiencies into the way they advise clients, accessing important documents as and when they need them.

“Whether it’s working with businesses or individuals, due to the nature of our business, we must have a rigorous and robust document storage management system.”

He added: “The process in how we store and recover documents will now be quicker and more secure, bringing greater operational efficiencies.”

Daresbury-headquartered Converge Technology Specialists provided cloud computing services, while Eclipse Legal Systems implemented the case management and accountancy systems into Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall’s operational framework.

Mike continued: “When I joined in 2014, part of my new role was to look at new ways of boosting productivity while offering an even better standard of service to our clients.

“This investment will help us achieve that while implementing more resourceful ways of working and giving us a better infrastructure for growth.”
