Whitley Bay’s Avalon Bar & Hotel enters liquidation
The “Avalon” at 26 to 32 South Parade in Whitley Bay has been placed into Liquidation.
Greg Whitehead, an Insolvency Practitioner with Newcastle firm Northpoint, was appointed Liquidator on 3 September 2015 having been instructed by the company directors.
The Avalon traded as a bar and hotel and latterly the hotel was used by local council who required short term places for young adults.
Mr Whitehead said “This cessation of trading and liquidation with the loss of 10 jobs reflects the gradual decline in recent years of similar businesses in the immediate area.
“It will be interesting to see how South Parade moves on in years to come. As a local to Whitley Bay I hope it can be regenerated in some way.”
“I have asked Lambert Smith Hampton in Newcastle to deal with a sale of the property”.
