Raising a Toast to Restaurant Week
A trio of top South Tyneside restaurants are raising a toast to a new food event taking place next month.
South Tyneside Restaurant Week, run by South Tyneside Council, will offer discounts and deals at eateries across the borough from Saturday October 3 to Saturday October 10.
Among those taking part is Mambo Wine and Dine, at Winchester St, South Shields, which will be offering a two course meal with cocktails for £11.95.
This includes a choice of starters, such as a hand thrown garlic bread bruschetta and jalapeno bites, main courses ranging from vegetable paella to pizza picante and the diner’s choice of a peach or strawberry Bellini or non-alcoholic alternative.
The venue’s sisters sites, Mambo II at Prince Consort Rd, Hebburn and Mambo’s Italiano at St Hilda Street, South Shields, will also be participating and have developed their own two course menu, priced at £9.95.
Options here range from starters of gnocchi arabbiata and torta di salmone to main courses of lobster ravioli, pasta polpette and the signature mambo’s pizza parmigia.
Mambo’s Group owner, Kevin Kasaei, said: “This is a great opportunity for us to showcase the wide range of dishes on offer across all three Mambo’s sites and to celebrate the first ever South Tyneside Restaurant Week by offering diners a complimentary cocktail with their special, two-course meal.”
The Mambo’s Group is among dozens of outlets across South Shields, Hebburn, Boldon and Jarrow that will be participating in the inaugural South Tyneside Restaurant Week, with each running their own special menus and offers throughout the seven days.
Other sites taking part include The Black Horse, West Boldon and the nearby Quality Hotel, which will both be offering two courses for £10
Councillor Alan Kerr, Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council, with responsibility for Culture and Leisure, said: “It is wonderful to see so many places signing up for South Tyneside Restaurant Week 2015. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy a wide range of cuisines throughout the week and I am delighted to join Mambo’s in raising a toast to this inaugural event.”
