Developer Mulbury Homes expands with new name and services

Cheshire-based housing developer Mulbury Homes has changed its name and expanded its services.

The Lymm firm has renamed itself Mulbury and created a number of new sub-brands to better represent its various divisions, in addition to launching a new land and planning service.

Mulbury director Greg Mulligan said: “Over the last five years the business has grown rapidly.

“Developing affordable housing and care schemes for registered housing providers is our core market and will remain so, but we’re also growing in other related sectors.”

Greg added: “We’re developing homes for open market sale, as well as looking at alternative housing models such as the private rented sector and other investor-backed city centre schemes.”

While the name Mulbury Homes has been retained for the firm’s affordable housing division, the company now comprises care and retirement living schemes division Mulbury Care, private sale division Mulbury Living, and private rented sector and high-density city living schemes division Mulbury City.

The new arm, Mulbury Land, is a joint venture with Preston-based PWA Planning, through which Mulbury will work with landowners to gain planning consent for residential and mixed commercial developments.

Director Greg continued: “We wanted to create unique identities for these different parts of the business and so we felt the name Mulbury would better reflect the company as a whole. It’s a small but important change.”

Since 2010, Mulbury has grown into a £30m-turnover company. The firm was recently granted planning permission for a £30m development on Port Street in the Northern Quarter area of Manchester.

Greg commented: “These are exciting times for the business with lots of new development in the pipeline.

“We want to ensure our identity keeps pace with this change and speaks to all our customers and partners.”
