Clinical Manager Accepts New Role Within On Medical

Cheryl Dixon, Clinical Manager and Senior Physiotherapist at medico-legal reporting agency On Medical, has accepted the additional title of Chief Medical Officer within the company, which is pushing forward in its quest to become a Registered Tier 1 medical reporting organisation for the purposes of MedCo. The Chief Medical Officer role is defined as one who will ensure clinical governance and dispute resolution.

The role brings extra duties to Cheryl’s already busy schedule, such as providing clinical guidance, support and education to On Medical employees, assisting and working alongside the Expert Co-ordinators and Complaints Manager and developing and implementing strategic goals related to quality improvement, management programs and accreditation standards.

Cheryl said: “I have worked for On Medical for over three years, solely within the rehabilitation side of the business, which has proven to be both challenging and highly rewarding. I look forward to extending my role to incorporate the duties and responsibilities of CMO.

“The main focus of the role will be to oversee and advise on company policy and procedures in relation to clinical governance. In essence clinical governance is a process of ensuring that high standards of clinical care are maintained and that the quality of service provided is continually improved. It encompasses a range of activities including clinical effectiveness, clinical audit, education & training, and risk management.

“With the establishment of MedCo, and details of an accreditation scheme for Medical Experts newly announced, the quality of medico-legal examinations and reports will continue to be under the spotlight.

“I look forward to assisting the company in its drive to further develop and strengthen our already extensive panel of independent Medical Experts and in its determination to deliver a professional service to our partners in the legal and insurance sectors.”

Kerry Hodgson, Manager of On Medical, said: “I am so pleased that Cheryl has accepted this extra role and I am looking forward to working alongside Cheryl in developing On Medical to compete against larger and well known medical agencies. The change within On Medical in the last few months is dramatic and it is an exciting time for everybody here whilst we change procedures and learn to work and adapt with external firms.”
