Commercial Refrigeration System and its Inventive Types

Refrigeration is the process in which heat is transferred from one place to another under controlled conditions. There are certain different ways of transferring the heat. It is usually done by mechanical work. There are also some other means of doing that by using heat, magnetism, laser or electricity and some other means. A lot of development has been done in the refrigeration field. Refrigeration is a very important and vital part of the lifestyle. Preservation of food is a very old phenomenon and still holds a very important position in the lives of people.

Nowadays a lot effort is put into making the refrigeration energy efficient. The refrigeration industry has developed a lot. Now there are several types of Commercial Refrigeration Systems available. The improving refrigeration systems have really improves the lifestyle of people and have made the lives easier and more comfortable.

Some of the different refrigeration types used is vapor-compression refrigeration system, vapor-compression heat pumps, gas refrigeration system, thermoelectric refrigeration systems and ammonia absorption refrigeration system.

Vapor-compression refrigeration system:

This refrigeration system is very common in air-conditioning of the buildings and automobiles. It is also used in refrigerators both commercial and domestic. It is used commonly in large scale storage of chilled and frozen foods and also meats. This refrigeration system is widely used in refrigerated trucks as well.

The vapor-compression refrigeration is the refrigeration system which undergoes different phase changes. It is used widely because it is easier to construct. Its cost is also lower as compared to other refrigeration systems. It basically uses a heat engine that runs backwards so the heat is transferred from cold reservoir to a hot reservoir.

Vapor-compression heat pumps:

This system provides the first and complete single source system level treatment which deals with the movement of fluids and their use in the different vapor compressor systems. This system is a little more complex than the refrigerant mixtures. A heat pump is a device that transfers the heat from the source, at low temperature to another location, at a high temperature. The basic principle stays the same like the other refrigeration systems.

Gas refrigeration system

In this refrigeration system, instead of vapors, gas is utilized for cooling in gas refrigeration cycle. When gas is compressed and is throttled from high pressure to low pressure the temperature decreases. This is the principle that is used in gas refrigeration system. There is no change of phase of the gas in this process. The most commonly used gas in this process is the air. This system is slightly less efficient than the vapor compression system.

Thermoelectric refrigeration systems

This refrigeration system uses the principle of ‘Peltier’ in order to pump heat electronically. The Peltier effects create heat flux between two different points. It can be used both for heating and cooling. This system is no used as commonly as the vapor system. There is a lot of work being done in order to make this system both efficient and affordable.

Ammonia absorption refrigeration system:

In this system the ammonia is used as the refrigerant agent and water is the absorbent. This system is highly stable as water and ammonia have strong attraction. It works very well with other materials. Ammonia is also considered as the most suitable absorbent. It is not used widely because of a toxicity element. It is not very environmental friendly.
