Brabners retains ranking among top 10 UK M&A advisers

North West law firm Brabners has retained its position among the 10 most active M&A legal advisers in the UK, in a new report from global information services company Experian.

Brabners, which has offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston, managed to hold onto its recently acquired position among the national top 10 and its status as the most active M&A adviser in the North West, a title it has held for the last four years.

Of the 57 M&A deals handled by the company in the first three quarters of 2015, 30 were in the North West.

Brabners partner David Bowcock, the firm’s head of corporate in Manchester, said: “We’re continuing to see corporates across the UK with a renewed determination and impetus to grow and this is reflected in the high volume of deals we’ve worked on throughout the year so far.

“Q3 saw the team particularly busy outside of the North West, reflecting our growing reputation across the UK M&A advisory market.”

The £30.2m-turnover company also secured top 10 M&A rankings in Yorkshire and Scotland, while moving from joint second place to first in Wales.

Commenting on the report, Brabners’ partner and head of corporate in Liverpool, Mark Rathbone, said: “While many expected to see the effects of a mid-year slowdown, it’s encouraging to see businesses across a wide variety of sectors continue to act on long-term investment plans and acquisition strategies.

“We’re looking forward to continue working with some of the UK’s most ambitious businesses as they look to close deals throughout the final quarter of 2015.”

Deals included advising recruitment firm Impellam Group plc as it acquired international healthcare company Global Group (UK) Ltd for around £37m.
