Canning O’Neill appointed as joint agent on 67-acre South Manchester development
Urban regeneration company Muse Developments has appointed commercial property firm Canning O’Neill as a joint agent on its 67-acre Cheadle Royal scheme, along with with real estate services provider Cushman & Wakefield.
Planning consent on the South Manchester business park has been granted on a design-and-build basis for 783,000 sq ft of leisure and office space, of which 635,000 sq ft has so far been developed.
Canning O’Neill’s director, Conrad O’Neill, said: “Cheadle Royal is an exemplar business park in terms of the quality of its offer and location.
“The supply of Grade A offices in South Manchester is already very tight, and with no buildings currently under construction on business parks, occupiers that are in search of high-quality space will have no alternative but to look at design and build opportunities.”
He added: “Muse Developments have an excellent track record in delivery and, at Cheadle Royal, can deliver ‘made to order’ offices to let or for sale.”
Today, the scheme is home to a number of large office occupiers, including contractor Balfour Beatty, manufacturer Agilent Technologies and creative agency Fresh Group.
Two more phases at the business park are due for completion; Lakeside 4000, which is large enough for office buildings up to 100,000 sq ft in size, and Oakfield 4, which can accommodate office buildings comprising up to 25,000 sq ft.
Greg Ball, a development surveyor at Muse Developments, commented: “The first few phases at Oakfield have proved to be very popular with owner-occupiers.
“Our focus now turns to securing pre-lets, which has been boosted by Miele’s commitment to build an 8,000 sq ft demonstration centre at Cheadle Royal.”
