Law firm Jackson Canter expands commercial department with acquisition

Jackson Canter Group, the Liverpool-based law firm, has expanded with the acquisition of North West commercial law practice Cope & Co.

The acquisition, which increases Jackson Canter’s presence in the commercial sector, will see Cope & Co founder Paul Cope working closely with the firm on a consultancy basis to ensure a smooth transition process for clients.

Jackson Canter, meanwhile, has appointed a new head of its commercial department, Sarah Nolan, to replace current commercial head Michael Sandys when he leaves the company later this month.

Andrew Holroyd, Jackson Canter CEO, said: “Cope & Co have a reputation for a high standard of commercial legal services, combining innovative processes with no fuss, approachable service.

Discussing the acquisition, Paul Cope said he is “delighted” that Cope & Co will form part of Jackson Canter Group.
