Ilkley's Heavyweight Agent Breaks Boundaries With Office Lettings
LEADING commercial property agent Dacres Commercial has now let and sold more than 30,000 square feet of office space in Ilkley and its surrounding villages since the start of 2015.
The company has just let more than 5,200 square feet of former office space on Riverside Business Park, on Leeds Road in Ilkley, to Heavy Metal Gym. The bodybuilding and conditioning gym has expanded into the three storey building from a smaller unit within the business park.
This follows a series of successful lettings at Ilkley’s International Development Centre (IDC), with Support Warehouse, a sales and marketing solutions provider working with the IT industry, recently taking almost 7,500 square feet in the newly refurbished building out of total lettings of almost 9,000 square feet. In addition, over the last six months Dacres Commercial has agreed lease renewals on approximately 20,000 square feet of space in the landmark building which was opened in 1968 by the International Wool Secretariat.
Other key deals which Dacres Commercial have handled include the sale of Burley House located in Burley in Wharfedale which was sold for residential redevelopment at the start of the year.
Mark Williams from Dacres Commercial says: “Heavy Metal Gym opened in Ilkley approximately one year ago and the fledgling business has quickly established a strong following and outgrown its existing premises.
“Although Riverside Business Park was originally designed as an office scheme, the units have flexible layouts, which lend themselves to a number of uses, so transforming this building into a superb gym with plenty of studio space required minimal investment and makes it the ideal place for Heavy Metal to embark on its next phase of growth.”
Matthew Brear from Dacres Commercial adds: “Dacres Commercial has now completed sales, lettings and renewals on more than 50,000 square feet of office space in Ilkley and the LS29 area since the start of the year, which reinforces the strength of the out of town commercial market in prime locations.
“Lots of the businesses that we’re letting space to are expanding and see Ilkley as a great town to base themselves in, with good rail links, superb local amenities and a strong business community. This trend looks set to continue, and as a result, we’re beginning to see a shortage of quality office space available in the town.”
Dacres Commercial operates from an office network that covers Leeds city centre, Ilkley, Skipton, Keighley, Harrogate and Otley. The firm is part of leading estate agency firm Dacre, Son & Hartley.
