York’s Management School Hosts 150-Strong Careers Event

More than 150 marketeers from across the North of England came together last night to attend a specialist careers event at The University of York’s Management School, and to hear from guest speakers including alumni Camilla Mazzitelli and Jack Watkins.

Hosted by industry body the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) the conference welcomed both established and up-and-coming marketing professionals, as well as students interested in pursuing a career in the industry.

Attendees were also able to seek advice from sponsors and leading marketing recruitment specialists Elevation Recruitment Group, as well as The York Management School.

Elevation Recruitment Group’s Sarah-Lee Neesam, an Associate Director of the company’s specialist marketing sales division, said: “The event was very well attended with a myriad of marketing professionals - from students through to established practitioners - travelling from across the North of England to gain both careers advice and industry insight from the speakers and experts in attendance.

“We are pleased to be able to partner with both The York Management School and the CIM to be able to offer this free careers fair to those in the region and across the North of England.”

Over the past three years we have launched a new Masters in Global Marketing and in 2016 we will launch a new BSc Marketing, and CIM have helped to accredit the programs and provide ideas for curriculum design.

“Our students have managed to secure some amazing career positions and they are now back for this event to share their experiences with our current students and inspire them to show what is achievable with a career in marketing”.
