Greater Manchester leaders announced for Northern Powerhouse event
Leaders from across Greater Manchester have been announced as speakers at an upcoming Northern Powerhouse conference in Salford.
Set to take place in the Lowry Gallery next week, the event will feature Manchester Airport MD Ken O’Toole and Manchester City Council leader Sir Richard Leese as headline speakers.
The conference will also include talks from the managing director of Manchester-based Frontier Public Relations, David Innes-Edwards, as well as Dr Kieron Flanagan, a senior lecturer in Science and Technology Policy at the University of Manchester.
Ken O’Toole commented: “The airport has always been an invaluable economic asset for the North of England, and for many people in the region, whether they are flying for leisure or business purposes, we are a global gateway and the beating heart of the Northern Powerhouse.
“I’m excited to talk at the conference and explain the role Manchester Airport hopes to play in making the Northern Powerhouse vision a reality.”
The Manchester Airport-sponsored conference, which is being hosted on November 10 by Salford University with the support of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, will address the impact the Northern Powerhouse initiative could have on business, transport, science and the arts.
