School leaders invited to become pupils for the day

A law firm and a recruitment company that both specialise in the education sector are inviting head teachers, school board members and business managers to a series of free, highly focussed workshops that will provide advice and guidance on effective school management.

Organised by Irwin Mitchell and Education Futures, which is part of the recruitment group Futures.co.uk, the workshops will concentrate on core areas under the Ofsted inspection framework.

Specialist speakers will cover a wide range of topics including Special Education Needs (SEN) provision, employee management, how to get ahead of an Ofsted inspection and maximising funding for schools.

The first workshop will take place on Thursday 19th November at The Village Hotel in Leeds. It will be run by a School Improvement Advisor and Head of Education Legal Services (North) and employment law specialist, Jenny Arrowsmith from Irwin Mitchell. Jenny says: “We will focus on the key priority areas for school improvement and explore how schools can drive sustained improvement over the long-term. We will also look at common issues relating to the management of staff and strategies to overcome them.”

Sian Williams from Education Futures adds: “This will be a hugely valuable session that promises to be both practical and engaging. It will also be a chance for like-minded head teachers and senior leaders to share best practice and gain free advice that will contribute to the development of their school, and in turn benefit both staff and pupils.”

For details of the workshop which will run from 9.15am until 11.45am and information on future IM Educate workshops contact amy.randall@irwinmitchell.com or sian.williams@futures.co.uk
