£2m Broadhelm Business Park development to create dozens of new jobs

A new £2m trade park development on Broadhelm Business Park in Pocklington will create dozens of new jobs.

The 22-acre development is being carried out by Broadhelm Venture, a joint venture between The Helmsley Group and Broadvale Developments.

After considerable investment in the road infrastructure over recent years including the new roundabout on the York to Hull Road (A1709), phase one of the scheme has already attracted the new Pocklington Service Station, which includes a Nisa Local, Subway and Costa Coffee concessions and more recently a Starbucks drive-thru, which will create another 15 jobs.

Plans have been submitted for the next phase of the development, which can accommodate industrial, distribution, office and trade counter occupiers from 1,000 sq.ft. up to 5,000 sq.ft., with the first occupier Home-Fit UK already being secured.

Home-Fit UK are a home trade operator and construction company currently based in Market Weighton and will be moving into a new 3,000 sq. ft. showroom / warehouse facility in 2016. The remaining land can accommodate requirements up to 100,000 sq. ft. on both a leasehold and freehold basis.

The appointed property agents are Gent Visick and Procters.

Jonathan Atkinson from Broadvale Developments, commented: “We are delighted that our development proposals are moving forward. This new scheme will cater for growing demand in the Pocklington area for commercial premises. We hope to attract many new businesses to the area and create dozens of new jobs.”

Paul Mack, director at Gent Visick, added: “The supply of modern or new industrial / warehouse accommodation in the York or Pocklington area is extremely limited and we are delighted to be involved in this exciting scheme. Demand so far has exceeded all expectations and we hope to be in a position to make further announcements in the very near future.”
