Two New Directors For Leading Smoke & Fire Protection Manufacturer

Sheffield based BLE Smoke & Fire Curtains has announced the appointment of a new managing director and technical sales director as the firm looks to embark on its next stage of growth.

Following the appointment of Nigel Ward, 45, as managing director and Alan Todd, 51, as technical sales director, the firm is adding over 40 years’ worth of experience to the division.

Nigel’s career started when he worked for a Canadian car parts manufacturer before he went on to work for Applus IDIADA in its testing certification division, he later became managing director of a Thule Plant in Rotherham, running its automotive division.

Alan spent 20 years as a director at Tata Steel, but after leaving the firm 18 months ago, he appreciated that BLE Smoke & Fire Curtains is leading the market for fire protection technology and wanted to be a part of its continuing growth so joined to lead the sales and Engineering team.

Managing director at BLE Smoke & Fire, Nigel Ward said: “I am delighted to have joined BLE Smoke & Fire Curtains, the leading expert in a broad array of building safety and security systems. I want to help BLE continue to grow, we have a portfolio of innovative, proven and reliable products and services, which are used all over the world.

“My career to date has afforded me valuable insight into identifying what is required at such a fast-paced organisation, our technology is ever-changing and the industry is very demanding, I believe my experience will help me adapt to the industry and help keep the business successful.”

Nigel appointed Alan after going through the Newark based, executive recruitment agency, CFR Europe because he was impressed with his experience and believed that he was the right person to lead the sales team.

Mr Ward added: “Success requires the right people, people who can lead but also build strong relationships within the sales team to help build long-term client and partner relationships, I know that Alan is the right man for the role. BLE Smoke & Fire has excellent foundations in place and I am very excited to lead this organisation and to build on these foundations to make us a world leader.”
