LCF Law Supports Outside The Box

LEADING Yorkshire law firm LCF Law has unveiled plans to hold a wide range of fundraising events over the next 12 months to raise money for Ilkley’s community café, Outside the Box.

Neil Shaw, who heads up LCF Law’s Personal Law team at the company’s Ilkley office, will kick start the fundraising activities when he runs the 10k Leeds Abbey Dash later this month dressed as Elvis Presley. This will be followed by a wide range of other events and fundraising activities over the coming months.

Outside the Box Café, which opened on Bridge Lane in 2013, is a charity and social enterprise that enables adults and young people with learning disabilities to lead more independent and fulfilled lives by providing structured work experience and training. The people the organisation works with, known as its members, span a wide range of ages and disabilities and play a major role in its overall team. Most work on structured tasks and activities at the café and follow individual programmes designed to develop their confidence, skills and abilities as they work towards set goals and accredited qualifications.

Neil says: “Outside the Box has quickly established a strong reputation in Ilkley as a forward thinking organisation that makes a real difference to the people it works with, so I’m delighted to be raising money for them by doing this run dressed as Elvis. As a successful local business, it’s fantastic to be able to support such a great cause and over the next 12 months our team at LCF Law will be participating in a huge range of fundraising activities to support the invaluable work that the café does.”
