Lessons for all businesses from the airline industry
Dr Dave Bryon is the former managing director of British low-cost airline bmibaby, which grew to become of our Europe’s largest low cost airlines under his leadership. In just four years it grew to a turnover of £200m pa, 21 aircraft, and 4 million passengers. The airline was sold in 2012 along with its parent company to IAG (British Airways Group).
He will be sharing his expertise and experiences of his time with the airline at a free ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) event at Doubletree by Hilton, Leeds on 25 November.
Dave will be focusing on the eight C’s of running an airline; Compliance, Competition, Cash-flow, Cost-control, Challenge, Change, Communication and Customer service. He will also be sharing some funny stories from his time in the industry.
Dave Bryon said: “While it’s clear that the eight C’s apply to running an airline, it’s equally clear that they are key factors for almost any business. The sectors might be different, but the lessons can be the same. My experience at bmibaby can be applied to any business and I’m looking forward to sharing my experience and insights with Leeds business community.”
Flying high: lessons from a low cost airline will take place at Doubletree by Hilton, Leeds on 25 November from 6:30pm. Tickets are free and include a fork buffet. To book or for more information email: England.events@accaglobal.com
