Survey ranks Manchester graduates among best in UK
Those who study at the University of Manchester are among the UK’s most employable graduates, according to a new survey.
French HR consultancy Emerging and German market research firm Trendence teamed up to ask recruiters at some of the biggest companies in the UK to vote for the universities from which they prefer to source graduates.
The university came in third place, while Manchester Business School also made the top 20, coming in 19th. The North West was further represented in the top 20 by the University of Liverpool, which ranked joint 14th.
Tammy Goldfeld, head of the careers service at the University of Manchester, commented: “Graduate recruiters from around the world target the University of Manchester because of our reputation for excellence and the breadth and high quality of our degree programmes.
“An increasing number of our students also gain valuable work experience through internships and placements, making them well prepared to enter the world of work.”
The survey is the UK version of the 2015 Global Employability University Ranking, which listed the university 24th globally.
