Explore Learning wins again at the EducationInvestor Awards

Explore Learning has been honoured with an EducationInvestor Award for the fourth time. The leading extra tuition provider with headquarters based in Guildford, has won the accolade of Private Tuition Centre Operator, over competitors 11 Plus Tutoring Academy, KSOL 11 plus and Regent Learning Centre.

The tuition company that prides itself on providing a stimulating and vibrant environment for children to learn in, has experienced rapid growth since last year with over 11 new centres opening across the UK in the last 12 months. The extra tuition service is also about to enter a new region as it launches its first centre in Wales at the end of November. Explore Learning now has more than 30,000 children attending every week and 118 centres across the UK.

The EducationInvestor Awards celebrate innovation and excellence in the education industry, recognising individuals and companies that have had an outstanding year. Judges said that they selected Explore Learning as the company has produced impressive evidence of educational performance and an approach to tutoring that works. The judges also praised Explore Learning’s ability to offer inclusivity of access by working with disadvantaged communities. With solid evidence of increasing turnover, the judge predicted Explore Learning could become a global success story.

Carey Ann Dodah, Head of Curriculum at Explore Learning, who picked up the award said: “We are thrilled to have won the Private Tuition Centre Operator Award. It’s been an exciting year for us, opening new centres and ensuring that we continue to provide the very best complement to a child’s education amidst the changes to the National Curriculum. We are now looking forward to our imminent expansion into a new region with our first centre in Wales. Children love coming along because they are supported and challenged at just the right level, they are rewarded for their efforts and concentration and get to work with fabulous tutors. Parents love it because they know their children are improving their key English and maths skills, developing a positive attitude to learning and enjoying the experience along the way.”

Explore Learning was set up in 2001 by Bill Mills with its first centre in Chelmsford, Essex. All courses are aligned to the National Curriculum, the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and the Curriculum for Wales. Explore Learning tutors select appropriate resources for each child to ensure they cover a combination of courses, enabling them to reach their full potential at their own pace.

Standard membership is from £109 per month, depending on the centre, for up to two sessions a week in English and maths – tailored to a child’s needs. Discounts are available to families eligible for Childcare Vouchers, Working Tax Credit or Income support or those that have more than one child attending.
