Manager of £260m Bradford shopping centre resigns less than a month after opening
The manager of Bradford’s new £260m shopping destination, The Broadway, has quit less than a month after it opened.
Sue Anderson-Brown, who was appointed as manager earlier in the year, has resigned from the post and Westfield, the company which runs the centre, has confirmed that the recruitment process to find her replacement is already underway.
No reason for Anderson-Brown’s resignation has been given as of yet.
A spokesperson for Westfield said: “We wish Sue all the best and look forward to announcing our new centre manager in due course.”
The £260m development, which created around 2,500 new retail jobs, opened for business on November 5th and is the largest retail centre in the country to open this year.
The Broadway features department and fashion brands, including anchors Marks & Spencer and Debenhams, and high street fashion stores H&M, Next, Topshop, Topman, New Look, schuh and River Island.
In addition, only a few weeks ago it was announced that The Light, one of the UK’s newest cinema brands, has signed up to operate Meyer Bergman’s new state-of-the-art cinemain The Broadway, creating 100 new jobs in the process.
