Day seven: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses
#7 Make the Most of the Christmas Rush
Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. For today’s top tip, please see below:
For most UK businesses, Christmas is the busiest time of the year. Ensure your business is well prepared and well equipped to take advantage of increased sales, with sufficient stock, staff and cash flow on hand. Consumers are increasingly doing their Christmas shopping online, and last year over £17billion was spent online alone, a growth of almost 20% from 2013[1], so making sure your website is ready and able to deal with increased traffic is imperative. Bear in mind not all people leave their shopping to the last minute, so make sure you prepare yourself sooner rather than later.
The Christmas season can conjure up unexpected challenges try to think about different scenarios your business might come up against over the course of the next few weeks, and plan accordingly. Although you may not be able to predict every situation, the more time and effort you put in at the beginning, the better the outcome and the more likely you will be able to offer solutions.
