Simon Long, Intermarketing Agency

Following the news that Leeds’ Intermarketing Agency has opened new offices in London, Amsterdam and Sydney, Simon Long is appointed Creative Director for London.

This senior appointment highlights the agency’s focus on continuing to develop its creative offering in these markets.

Simon Long, an award-winning Creative Director, strategist and mentor will be heading up the London studio. Over the past 15 years he has led creative, development and design teams working in the digital and traditional arenas, for leading brands including Jack Daniel’s, Chanel, NatWest and Chivas Regal.

Long said: “My focus is to help grow an agency model that instinctively adapts to an ever-changing culture. The moment I met the guys in Leeds, it was clear that Intermarketing Agency was the place to continue that work”

With the office now open on Farringdon Lane, Long added: “The key is to preserve and nurture the culture at Intermarketing Agency. Building an ethos and environment where the best ideas are born and thrive is essential in our aim to establish the agency as a creative force in the London market”.

Eleanor McCabe, Furley Page

South east law firm, Furley Page has appointed one of its newly-qualified solicitors to its highly regarded Private Trusts and Estates Team.

Eleanor McCabe, aged 30, spent two years training with the firm, which is recognised by independent legal guides Chambers UK and The Legal 500. She now specialises in all areas of private client work and trust administration, including Will drafting and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Eleanor then joined Furley Page’s trainee solicitor programme, gaining further valuable experience with the Dispute Resolution, Private Client and Residential Property teams.

Eleanor is currently working towards a qualification with The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Nick Smith, Regal Homes

Regal Homes, the privately held property development firm, which has delivered over 1000 high quality homes in the London market since 1998, has appointed Nick Smith to the role of Commercial Director.

Nick previously served with United House for 18 years, rising from Senior Surveyor to Managing Surveyor. During his tenure, Nick held full commercial responsibility for all projects, ranging from £5m to £50m in value. His considerable experience spans the RSL sector (both new build & refurbishment), as well as private and commercial development.

Prior to joining United House, Nick spent five years in the Housing Division at Carillion, progressing from Surveyor to Senior Surveyor.

Michael Bond, Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking

Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking has strengthened its Technology, Media and Telecommunications team in London with the appointment of Michael Bond as Mid Markets Relationship Director.

Michael joins the eight strong team having previously worked in a similar role looking after clients in the Education, Communities and Government sector across the South East, where he was responsible for helping grow the Bank’s portfolio of clients, doubling the size of the team servicing those clients in the process.

With 12 years in corporate banking, he will now be responsible for growing Lloyds Bank’s portfolio of Technology, Media and Telecommunications businesses in the capital with a turnover of between £25 million and £100 million.

The team specialises in structuring tailored funding solutions for new and existing clients to provide risk management, financing, working capital and liquidity to dynamic businesses within a high-growth sector.

Commenting on his appointment, Simon Bumfrey, Area Director at the bank’s TMT team in London said: “Michael brings with him a great track record of relationship-led banking, in which he has helped grow our client base by ensuring we always deliver the bespoke, tailored funding packages that our clients require to help them prosper.

Gary Jacobs, Evolution5

Construction consultancy Evolution5 has appointed Gary Jacobs as Director of its new London office.

The new base which is located near Kings Cross has just opened and is part of the consultancy’s ongoing expansion.

In this role, Gary will lead the London office for Evolution5 and will work with developers, commercial property investors, building owners and landlords to further develop the consultancy’s client portfolio for project management, building surveying and cost management services.

Commenting on this latest appointment, Jamie Barrett, Managing Director of Evolution5, said, “We are delighted to welcome Gary to the team. His depth of experience and enthusiasm will further strengthen and expand our operations in London and will help us build on our reputation for outstanding service delivery.”

Vanessa McMurtrie, Hart Brown

Vanessa McMurtrie has joined Hart Brown as a Partner - the law firm where her legal career began back in 1991.

The family department of the firm’s Woking office has welcomed Vanessa, where she will provide family law advice across all of Hart Brown’s six offices in Surrey.

As a Resolution accredited Collaborative Family Lawyer, and Collaborative (ADR) Family Solicitor Vanessa specialises in Family and Matrimonial issues, and is committed to resolving disputes in a non-confrontational and constructive way.

On talking about her re-joining Hart Brown, Vanessa reflected on her past success. “ I have had a number of memorable and rewarding cases over the years, but the two that really stand out were: the relocation case where the two teenage children wanted different outcomes – the son wanted to stay with the dad in the UK and the daughter wanted to go with mum to USA, and the presiding judge commented upon how difficult it was to make a decision in this case and others which involved international geographical distances following relocation of one parent; and the case where a grandmother successfully stopped her grandchildren from being adopted despite the local authorities determination that the two children should not remain within the maternal family.“

Michael Moran, Andrew Donnachie & Jaswinder Sandhu; Fairstone Group

Fairstone Group has announced the appointments of Michael Moran, Andrew Donnachie and Jaswinder Sandhu to its London office.

The newly appointed Independent Financial Advisers are the latest in a number of recent additions which now brings adviser numbers in their City operation to 33, supported by a dedicated compliance and para-planning function.

Michael Moran joins Fairstone as an IFA after 27 years in the industry, 16 years of which he spent specialising in pensions and investments advice. He joins from Pensions and Wealth Management Services Limited.

Andrew Donnachie joins from Independent Solutions Ltd and has 29 years’ experience in financial services specialising in company and individual pensions, protection and mortgages.

Jaswinder Sandhu joins as an IFA specialising in investments, pensions and inheritance tax planning. He has a 13 years background as an IFA and, prior to joining Fairstone, he worked as a Senior Financial Adviser for Uniec Prestige, Culver Financial Management and AWD Chase de Vere.

Alex Mahon, Shine Group

Alex Mahon, the former CEO of Shine Group, has joined the leading design and visual effects software firm, The Foundry, as Chief Executive.

Alex joined Shine Group, the production company behind such hits as MasterChef, Spooks and Broadchurch, in 2006 and built it up into a business operating in 12 countries with revenues of £700m before its sale in December 2014. She had previously held senior positions at Talkback Thames, FremantleMedia Group and RTL Group.

The Foundry is a leading global developer of software to deliver high-end visual and 3D effects for the design, visualisation and entertainment industries. The company was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in London, with offices in Silicon Valley, Manchester, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Dublin, and Austin. It has a staff of 300.
