Day 14: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses
#14 Delivering Christmas on Time
Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. FedEx customer Kelly Turkeys, advises on the importance of a high-quality logistics provider this winter.
By Paul Kelly, Managing Director, Kelly Turkeys…
“While the team here are hard at work throughout the year, the festive season is by far the most critical for us as a business. This year, with the help of FedEx we’re planning on providing approximately 10,000 turkeys to Christmas dinner tables across the UK in just 24 hours, so meticulous planning is essential. Keeping our customers happy is integral to the success of our business, so we work hard to ensure service levels are increased in December.
“Our main piece of advice for other companies would be – don’t be tempted to offer lower priced services if you’re not able to deliver on the promises behind them. We’ve found that customers are happy to spend a little more if they know they’re getting a service they can rely on. Nothing is infallible, but putting extra investment into delivery is worth the far greater reward of having a happy customer who will keep purchasing from you year after year. It’s also essential to work closely with your logistics provider to ensure cohesion at every stage of the supply chain.”
