Taylor&Emmet provides festive treat for pet shelter

Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is donating a tail wagging £2,000 to its furry friends at local animal charity, Rain Rescue.

The money is the result of a year of fundraising by the solicitors who have been supporting the shelter for neglected cats and dogs through the firm’s annual charity initiative.

Taylor&Emmet HR and training assistant, Victoria Jackson, championed Rain Rescue and led the firm’s fundraising efforts, undertaking a sponsored skydive in April. A cross-department team also completed the Sheffield Half Marathon, whilst a number of dress down days and bake sales have been organised, culminating in a final Christmas jumper event last week.

Claire Fletcher, Taylor&Emmet’s marketing co-ordinator, said: “We are very pleased to be handing over such a significant sum of money to Rain Rescue at a time of year when demand for its services peaks. My colleagues have demonstrated nerve, physical stamina and questionable sartorial taste in support of this small, yet vital local charity and their efforts are much appreciated!”

Rain Rescue works across Yorkshire, saving the lives of around 300 dogs and cats each year. It is funded solely by donations and the proceeds of its two shops in Sheffield and Rotherham.

Shelley Richmond, a volunteer with Rain Rescue, collected Taylor&Emmet’s cheque with Autumn the dog. She said: “We cannot thank the firm’s staff enough for dedicating their time and hard earned cash to us this year. The money raised is enough to pay our winter heating bills, or enable us to give the animals in our care a quality diet for three months.”
