Specialist Sheffield law firm completes five worth £1m
Sheffield-based MD Law, the corporate recovery and insolvency specialist, has completed five deals worth nearly £1m in just three months, helping to save close to 150 jobs.
The niche legal practice was formed last year by insolvency lawyers Matthew Dixon.
His team acted for joint administrators on three of the transactions which sold firms out of administration, securing jobs in Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Greater Manchester.
They included Chesterfield machine and tool manufacturer Peak Toolmakers, which was acquired by its sister company in a rescue deal that safeguarded the 46-strong workforce.
The following month, MD Law provided legal advice to the deal which led to the sale of long-established Sheffield office equipment supplier RA Roberts to Complete Office Solutions Ltd.
MD Law also acted for the purchasers of Rare Restaurant in Leeds. The steak restaurant has been bought by Sheffield-based Avant Garde, which runs the Bamboo Door cocktail bar as well as providing bar services for weddings, private parties, corporate events and festivals.
Matthew said: “Having this many significant deals under our belt so soon and for different corporate clients is extremely gratifying and shows the tremendous support and loyalty the practice and the team has from its clients.
“We continue to provide our expert services for our existing commercial clients and have already seen an increase in our client base to ensure further business growth for 2016.”
MD Law specializes in business recovery, insolvency, commercial litigation, dispute resolution and debt recovery. The Broomhall Road practice acts for and advises insolvency professionals, businesses and individuals across the country.
