Vista boss disappoints nation on Coronation Street

DARREN MAW: NATIONAL DISAPPOINTMENT

WELL-KNOWN Manchester HR and employment law firm boss Darren Maw has suddenly become a lot better known – but perhaps for unexpected reasons…

The British viewing public were collectively disappointed on Christmas Day thanks to Darren’s surprise role in the year’s biggest episode of Coronation Street.

One Christmas storyline featured much-loved character Mary, played by Patti Clare. Mary waited for the love of her life, married man Brendan, to arrive. The actor who plays Brendan is North West favourite Ted Robbins, who is well known for his role as club owner Den Perry in Phoenix Nights.

The 5.9million viewers were briefly kept in suspense as a pair of men’s shoes appeared on the floor next to her. The camera tilted upwards to reveal not Ted Robbins, but instead Darren - whose day job is managing director and founder of Vista – much to the dismay of both Mary and the nation.

When Darren isn’t running the Cheadle-based HR and employment law firm, which is retained by some of the UK’s most prestigious employers, he is no stranger to the world of showbiz. Represented by an esteemed agency, Darren has performed in shows at the Lowry Theatre and has been cast as the lead for a new production of ‘A Curtain Down on Murder’ for 2016. The two worlds sometimes even collide, as in 2015 Vista was hired by Blackpool Grand Theatre to provide hands-on and bespoke employment advice.
