High Sheriff presents cheque to North Yorkshire Police Treatment Centres

The Police Treatment Centres (PTC) were delighted to welcome Charlie Forbes Adam, the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire, and David Garfitt, the Under Sheriff of North Yorkshire, at a recent cheque presentation ceremony.

The High Sheriff and Under Sheriff presented a generous cheque for £1666.62 to Col Patrick Cairns the CEO of the PTC.

The money was raised at the Annual North Eastern Circuit Legal Service where the Harrogate-based PTC was a joint beneficiary with York Minster.

Charlie Forbes Adam commented: “I am delighted to present the cheque to the PTC. I have seen first-hand the important work that they do in providing treatment and support for ill and injured police officers who present for a variety of physical and psychological injuries and conditions at the Centre.

“I know that the PTC makes a real difference in returning them back to better health and fitness and serving the public and their communities”,” said Mr Forbes Adam.

Col Patrick Cairns, the CEO of the PTC, thanked the High Sheriff and observed: “It is always difficult for us as a police charity to fundraise to support our work, so I would like to thank all of the High Sheriffs of the North Eastern Circuit for selecting the PTC as one of their charity beneficiaries, and their very generous donation and this money will make a big difference in allowing us to support the 4,000 police patients that we treat every year at our centres”

The Police Treatment Centres is a registered charity which provides treatment, recuperation, support and rest, including intensive, police-specific, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, for injured and ill police officers and retired officers. The PTC would like to express their thanks to all who donated, for helping us to improve the health and wellbeing of all our police patients.
