Jet Aire invest in health and safety
Jet Aire has teamed up with North East based Health and Safety company DPCNE to enhance their company health and safety.
The partnership began in unusual circumstances as Jet Aire Managing Director Charlie Kirk happened to be sat opposite DPCNE Director Mick Stephenson on the train and got chatting about developments within the health and safety industry. Sharing similar views about the business, and with Jet Aire looking to continue their growth plans in 2016, the partnership made perfect sense.
Speaking about the new contract, Commercial Director Keith Ferris said: “Jet Aire as always looked to work to the highest of standards, and this partnership will allow us to tender for high commercial work, with the confidence that we will pass all health and safety checks. I have already been impressed with the support given and believe this will elevate Jet Aire into an even better drainage contractor.”
DPCNE are recognised as one of the leading companies in promoting a practical and pragmatic approach to health and safety that enhances a company’s offerings rather than inhibits, an ethos Jet Aire share.
Having started in January 2016, the partnership has seen DPCNE provide external health and safety services with one of the major facets of the partnership being DPCNE working alongside recently appointed Compliance Manger Paul Spiers. Paul has an excellent understanding of Health and Safety out on site, however DPCNE will also provide ongoing education to help him produce tailored written documents and relevant information for clients and the tendering process.
Also high on the agenda was the streamlining of Jet Aire’s current policies, with new documents already drafted and approved, allowing Jet Aire to get on with the tasks at hand without the worry of safety issues. In an industry where there can be an unfortunate stigma of cowboys, DPCNE work in partnership with industry leaders Essential Minimum Safety Standards (EMSS) and this will see all Jet Aire operatives issued with a health and Safety passports. This card, which all engineers will carry with them at all times, features a QR code to allow site managers to quickly establish which qualifications they have, as well as a passport number so you can login to an online portal to see certificates and dates of achievements. The transparency of qualifications will enable Jet Aire to be completely open with prospective clients.
Another big area of provision will be with the tendering for new contracts and projects. With the ongoing contract support, both in terms of visits and external help, Jet Aire will be able to confidently pitch for new contracts knowing they have all health and safety criteria firmly in place, with documents ready to show quickly and in a professional format.
Jet Aire take health and safety very seriously and this partnership with DPCNE allows them to ensure they have qualified and competent advice and guidance when needed.
