Kii introduces IoT cloud platform into German market
Kii, the Internet of Things (IoT) cloud platform provider, has announced its plans for the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), after its official launch into Europe last year. Following major investment from Cisco Investments in January, the company is now looking to establish itself in the DACH region, and will be headed up by Martin Tantow, EMEA Business Development Director, based in Munich.
Founder and CEO of Kii, Masanari Arai, says: “Our move into the DACH region makes perfect sense, given our focus on industrial IoT, smart cities and logistics. We’re seeing real progress and lots of interest already, particularly in Germany where we are talking to a number of interesting prospects and have several trials in progress. Our job now is to develop the Kii brand in the region and start building relationships with partners, including mobile carriers, systems integrators and end users.”
Martin Tantow adds: “The opportunities for IoT are ripe right now across the region, with a strong focus on Industry 4.0, but and it’s clear that there is demand for a reliable and scalable IoT development capability, as developers and service providers struggle to bring their products to market quickly and easily.
“With a reputation as the world’s ‘factory supplier’ and Europe’s leading ICT force, Germany is ideally situated to master the interdisciplinary challenges of integrated manufacturing. But innovations in smart factory, smart cities or connected cars can only succeed where there is close dialogue between electrical engineering, machinery and equipment, and the IT sector.”
Kii’s global platform enables device manufacturers and Internet of Everything (IoE) solution providers to create connected solutions with new data sources generated from IoT, to be integrated into cloud service and analytics-driven application models in a wide range of IoE use cases. At the intersection of software, hardware and the cloud, Kii is focused on addressing the high-performance demands of innovation in the connected world with an end-to-end cloud platform optimised for the IoT.
