Brother Scoops MediumBusiness at Northern Power Women Awards

Information, communication and technology business, Brother UK has been recognised for its commitment to gender equality and diversity at the inaugural Northern Power Women Awards.

The Greater Manchester based business scooped the Medium Business award which recognises the steps the company has taken to champion gender equality as it continues to grow its 200-strong workforce.

To ensure balance and progression, Brother conducts monthly workforce reviews which examine its male/female mix, including an analysis of management roles.

Louise Marshall, Infrastructure and Shared Services Director, at Brother UK said: “It was a great pleasure to share the event with a team of colleagues and regional peers who are amongst the many men and women role models transforming business culture and encouraging equality and diversity.

“With International Women’s Day today (8th March), it’s the ideal time to address cultural issues within our business community and across the UK. Our vision at Brother will remain clear, as we give everyone an equal chance to develop and perform to their highest standard, regardless of factors such as age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or ethnicity, while undertaking regular audits of our workforce to ensure balance and relevance.”

In the last three years, Brother UK has also been awarded a Times Top 100 place to work award and an Investors In People Gold award.
