Morgan Bros to triple capacity and create nine jobs with six-figure loan

Lancashire manufacturer Morgan Bros (Metalwork Solutions) Limited is hoping to triple its output and create jobs with a six-figure funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

The cash will be used to fund Chorley-based Morgan Bros’ move to new premises at Chappell Lane Business Park, allowing the firm to accommodate additional manufacturing equipment and hire nine new members of staff before the summer.

The expansion will also allow the company to add a new glass line to complement its existing metalwork range.

With an increased capacity, Morgan Bros will seek to grow its turnover from £2m to £3m over the next 12 to 18 months.

Morgan Bros director Tom Morgan said: “We could not be more delighted with what the new premises will offer, mainly the additional workshop space to accommodate all our in house facilities, the installation of state of the art equipment for us to start manufacturing glass and the capacity to welcome our newest team members.

“I see this as a very positive move for us as a manufacturing business and the local economy.”

He continued: “Thanks to the support we have received from Royal Bank of Scotland, and a substantial grant from the local council, this has helped to deliver a financial package that suits the needs of our rapidly growing business in a town we have operated in for three generations.”

Brothers Tom and Paul Morgan are the third generation of Morgans to run the firm since it was founded almost 57 years ago.

RBS relationship director Neil Marshall commented: “Morgan Bros is a longstanding customer and we are pleased that we have been able to support the company and its growth.

“We are confident this will prove a positive move for the Morgan Bros team and we wish them well as they capitalise on the opportunities this will undoubtedly bring.”
