Art Lovers Meet Artist Brian Griffiths at Baltic Thanks to NBS

Newcastle-based NBS, the leading provider of construction information and construction management services in the UK are sponsors of the Brian Griffiths exhibition at Gateshead’s world renowned BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.

The Bill Murray exhibition features a series of buildings - with a difference! And, in addition to their sponsorship they have also supported an event so art lovers could meet and talk to the artist himself, Brian Griffiths and gain an insight into his life and work and the inspiration behind the current exhibition.

BILL MURRAY: A Story of Distance, Size and Sincerity comprises nine, differently styled, buildings, including a lavish LA beach house, an historic Scottish mansion and an ocean adventure dome, inspired by Hollywood actor Bill Murray’s activities and pastimes.

Guests explored the exhibition, in the Level 4 gallery in an exclusive hour private view before the Artist Talk kicked off. Artist Brian Griffiths gave a fascinating talk about his career and the way in which he uses found and made objects to consider our complex relationships with the material and social world.

“We are delighted to have sponsored the Meet the Artist event” said Helen Whitfield Chief Operating Officer at NBS “it was an enormous privilege to meet Brian Griffiths and hear him talk about his life and work and we are glad so many people were able to share the experience”

“The Brian Griffiths exhibition enjoys and considers the effects of small, miniature, big, gigantic, the scaled up and scaled down and questions how we experiences and measure things and we were all able to hear about this from the artist himself”

“NBS are leaders in their field and work with 98% of the country’s architects and as architecture is an art in its own right we thought this was an ideal artist talk and exhibition to sponsor at BALTIC.”
