Flavour Warehouse acquires new e-cig liquid manufacturing facility in Blackburn

A Lancashire-based manufacturer of e-cigarette liquids has snapped up new premises to drive its expansion plans.

Flavour Warehouse has acquired a production facility on Sett End Road North at Shadsworth Business Park, Blackburn, giving it additional manufacturing space and room for growth.

The firm, which sells its products under the Vampire Vape brand, was founded in 2013 by entrepreneurs Phil Boyle and Nathan Walton, and today employs a team of 30.

Flavour Warehouse director Phil Boyle said: “We were initially importing our e-liquids, but we found many of these were below par and when there were problems with quality it was almost impossible to get these problems rectified.

“We turned to the UK so we could have total control over what we created and sold. Over the past three years we had moved facilities three times, outgrowing each within a few months.”

He added: “We wanted to purchase our own building so we could spec it out exactly how we wanted and also have the extra room to support us as we continue to grow.”

In addition to its business supplying e-cig liquids to wholesalers, the company also operates three retail stores in Manchester and Lancashire.

Nathan commented: “We now have two bespoke and fully-automated production line machines capable of producing 100k bottles of e-liquid per day and operating around the clock.

“We also have a state-of-the-art cleanroom so we can manufacture in a pharmaceutical grade environment.”

Phil and Nathan, both of whom are from Blackburn, were advised during the transaction by law firm Harrison Drury’s commercial property team.

Simon England, a director at Harrison Drury, commented: “Phil and Nathan have done well because they’ve had a clear strategy for growing the business and a determination to invest in the latest technology.

“Purchasing these new premises has allowed them to plan for future growth in this fast-moving industry.”
