Portuguese retailer Undandy targets ‘city workers’ as its bespoke footwear hits the UK

Online Portuguese fast fashion retailer Undandy is angling itself towards the city workers market following its UK launch.

The online retailer, brainchild of entrepreneurs Gonçalo Simões Henriques and Rafic Daud, allows customers to design their own bespoke, handmade footwear online which is then delivered to their door.

Offering a range of men and women’s leather footwear, including brogues, sneakers and boots, it mixes traditional bespoke clothing with the demand for ‘fast fashion’, items of clothing that move quickly from the catwalk to retailers.

Undandy’s UK launch follows the expansion from its Portuguese homeland into the European and American markets, and marks another step in the quiet technological revolution happening across Britain’s retail landscape.

Following the launch, Gonçalo, Co-founder of Undandy, said: “Shoes can tell you a lot about people, and we found there’s a demand out there for quality shoes that celebrate real individuality and cool design.

“With Undandy, we’ve created a bespoke design service that lets business people design their own shoes – from the colour to the stitching and superior materials - even if they are time-poor.”

Rafic Daud, Co-founder of Undandy “Creating a bespoke shoe used to be a lengthy process, so we’ve worked really hard on the site mechanics and with our shoemakers.

“An Undandy shoe takes just seven minutes to design, and we promise to deliver our shoes for free within two weeks. It’s fast fashion meets the luxury leather industry – perfect for city workers who want great shoes that make them stand out from the commuter crowd, or in the board meeting.”
