Simon Wallwork tops key dealmakers chart

CORPORATE lawyer Simon Wallwork of law firm Slater Heelis LLP is ranked number one in Experian’s latest list of ‘most active legal advisors’ in Manchester.

The Slater Heelis partner tops The Most Active Advisors in the Manchester Advisory Community table produced by data company Experian with a total of eighteen transactions in 2015.

Simon, who lives in Bowdon, has more than 27 years’ experience in corporate transactions and advising clients in a wide variety of sectors but in particular has a deep sector knowledge in both life sciences and technology.

Colleague, Rhian Owen, an associate solicitor at Slater Heelis also made the top ten most active lawyers with a total of fifteen transactions. The pair helped Slater Heelis to be acknowledged as one of the busiest legal advisers by deal volume for 2015 in the North West.

Key deals completed in 2015 included the MBO of The Rosebery Group Ltd, advising Hasgrove Limited on its disposal of The Chase, advising Blueberry Therapeutics Limited on its development capital investment by a number of Swiss investors, the investment by Finance Wales into Curapel Developments Limited, the MBO of Excel Assemblies Limited, the acquisition of Computer Network Services Limited by Incom (Holdings) Limited and the disposal of Paragon Telecoms Limited to private equity backed WHP.

Experian reports that 424 deals were announced in 2015, an increase of 18.8 per cent on the 357 transactions recorded during 2015. The total value of these transactions was £4.2bn.
