Trafford College transform data analytics with Dynistics

College performance and staff accountability visualised easily in dashboard analytics

Leading further education college, Trafford College in Manchester, has seen quick data-driven analytic success following the fast implementation of dashboards from Dynistics. The college can now produce reports within minutes on key areas of performance such as English and Maths, visualised easily in a variety of bespoke dashboards. In addition to performance monitoring, the College is also driving improvements in attendance to ensure in year retention is high.

The college has been able to connect information held in disparate IT systems (Pro Solution, Pro monitor and Pro Achieve) by using Dynistics’ Active Dashboards to pull together and visually demonstrate data-driven analytics, easily and quickly. In particular, Trafford College now has the ability to drill down and filter by individual courses and performance information can now be analysed by lecturer attendance, student attendance, through to cancelled classes, unmarked registers to staff utilisation, room utilization and OFSTED Destinations.

It has already had a succession of quick wins as a result, showcasing these dashboards through a ‘Show and Tell’ session with curriculum managers and senior members of staff across the college who are now keen to use the dashboards to report back on agreed areas for performance review. Dynistics is also working on the development of a new Pro Achieve Dashboard which will be released and added to the pre built template content for colleges.

“We were impressed at how easy it was to implement the Dynistics Active Dashboards and configure them to meet our specific needs. Feedback from staff has been extremely positive describing Active Dashboards as clear, intuitive and interactive. We’ve been able to gain value very quickly from time savings on producing relevant reports, through to the insight we have secured from looking at staff performance which is critical for their accountability. We will also be implementing the Dynistics system usage log which tracks which members of staff have logged into their Active Dashboard, for how long and for what purpose,” commented James Scott, Vice Principal Curriculum, Trafford College.

“Within three days, the college was able to develop dashboards and use that visual information to conduct a showcase presentation of the results. This has already helped the college unlock value from their data to help inform plan and decisions around college effectiveness and time management through to planning and forecasting. In addition, the dashboards have enabled the college to monitor staff performance and in turn analyse quality of course delivery combined with financial performance,” commented Andy Richardson, CEO, Dynistics.
