Bury based Exchange Utility to expand into second site, creating 250 new jobs for locals

Just two years ago Exchange Utility formed with a vision of becoming the UK’s go-to company for business energy and utility savings. Today they announce their move to Bury centre, allowing them to grow their team by a further 250 people - another significant step in their meteoric journey to save UK businesses money.

Exchange Utility directors Kelly Ivison and John Baker said: “Our renovation of Athenaeum House on Market Street allows us to grow our talented team of 160 people to 410. Bury represented the perfect fit for our company to continue to prosper, and make a real contribution to the local community.

“The opening of our site on Market Street, in addition to our current site on Bury New Road Heap Bridge, puts us in prime locations to attract potential employees from right across the borough. It will give our employees excellent access to transport, leisure and retail. We are a company that pride ourselves on our friendly culture, and our mission to save businesses money.”

Councillor Mike Connolly, leader of Bury Council, said: “Having a strong and thriving local economy is crucial for Bury, and helping to create and maintain that is one of the council’s very top priorities.

“We warmly welcome Exchange Utility to Bury; they are an excellent business, firmly founded on family values. This move secures further employment opportunities in the local area, as well as increasing footfall in the town centre. We will continue to work with the team at Exchange Utility to ensure that their move is successful.”
