Coventry lawyer promoted to partner status

A Coventry based conveyancing lawyer has recently been promoted following her team’s stellar performance over recent years.

Sarah Avern has reached Partner status at Band Hatton Button after originally joining their residential property team in 2002.

Since Sarah was appointed Head of the Residential Property Team, the number of cases they’ve taken on has increased each year – including a 46 per cent increase over the last three months compared to the same period last year.

Sarah will continue in her role as Head of Residential Property at the firm, and the 11-strong team is now each handling around 100 cases at any one time, with 75 per cent of business coming to them via word-of-mouth recommendations and repeat business from existing clients.

She joined Band Hatton Button in 2002 and qualified the following year as a Legal Executive. Sarah was then promoted to Head of Residential Property in 2013 and Associate in 2015.

Sarah said: “I’m just somebody who strives to do the best for my clients, so I was thrilled at this acknowledgement.

“I didn’t expect to get to this stage so quickly, but the success and growth of the department has surpassed everybody’s expectations.

Philip Costigan, Senior Partner at Band Hatton Button, was one of the people who acknowledged the performance of the residential property department.

He said: “Sarah has created and led a team that is an incredibly tight unit that gets results for clients in an efficient, thorough and approachable manner.

“The recognition given to Sarah is well deserved, and she is a shining example to other lawyers in her field. Sarah’s outlook and can-do attitude have helped her immensely over the years and she is a highly valued colleague across the business.”

Band Hatton Button offers a wide range of legal services to both businesses and private individuals alike. Specialist areas include corporate and commercial, commercial property, litigation, employment, residential property, personal injury and wills, probate and family matters.
