SweetTree honours its first Care Certificate ‘graduates’

Eighteen carers from SweetTree Home Care Services say they are ‘thrilled’ to have become the company’s first Care Certificate ‘graduates’.

The Care Certificate was introduced last year for all new carers working within a health or social care setting. The programme requires carers to reach a high standard in areas including communication, privacy and dignity, equality and diversity, safeguarding, dementia and mental health.

The carers from SweetTree have each demonstrated their skills meet the required level in all 15 key areas. They were invited to receive their certificates at a special mini graduation ceremony held at the company’s head office in central London, before being treated to a celebratory dinner.

Katerina Savova (pictured far right), who has joined SweetTree’s specialist home care team providing live-in care for two clients with dementia, commented: “This was a fantastic way to celebrate the completion of our training, as everyone has worked really hard. The training that SweetTree provides and how focused the company is on career development was one of the main reasons I applied to work here. I now look forward to getting to know my clients and to building strong relationships with them.”

SweetTree provides support at home for individuals with a wide range of care needs. Services include care for those experiencing age related frailty and more specialist programmes for those with dementia, mental health related illness, learning disabilities, brain injuries, neurological conditions and palliative care needs.

With offices in central London and Richmond, SweetTree employs over 500 people and is an Investors in People Gold standard organisation. The company was recently named the 35th best company to work for by the Sunday Times.

Nicki Bones, director of operations at SweetTree, explains: “We’re delighted to welcome these 18 new carers to the team. They have demonstrated their knowledge and skills, as well as passion and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care possible for clients.”

She added: “As a leading care provider, we are dedicated to the ongoing development of all our team members. Through the SweetTree Training Academy we provide comprehensive training programmes, helping our carers to continually advance, at every stage of their development.”
