Beth Brook, Nuffield Health Newcastle Hospital
Nuffield Health Newcastle Hospital has appointed Beth Brook to the new position with the aim of building links with more GP practices in the region and increasing the number of referrals from GPs to the hospital.
Beth joins Nuffield Health following a 15-year sales career within the hospitality industry which saw her working at a number of luxury hotels, including most recently Malmaison, Newcastle.
Her role will focus on raising awareness among local GPs of the services Nuffield Health Newcastle Hospital offers and the referral process so that doctors can inform their patients of the options available to them.
Beth said: “My role will be very much about relationship building, bridging the gap between GP surgeries and the hospital and also explaining more about the services we provide and how the referral system works.
“Many GPs and practice managers may not be aware of the variety of procedures we offer and their patients may not realise that they do not have to be covered by private health insurance to be treated at Nuffield Health Newcastle Hospital.
“It will be a challenge but one I am looking forward to and I can’t wait to get out and about meeting GPs from across the North East.”

Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors
The North East region of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors has recently announced it has launched a new forum team, which is being headed up by chairman Chris Jude, of Newcastle- based Building Surveyors Ltd.
The aim of the forum, which was launched this month at its inaugural meeting, is to support regional awareness and promote education relating to the particularly specialised field of party wall matters.
In 1997 the Government introduced party wall legislation across the whole of England & Wales in the form of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996.
It was recognised by a number of experienced practitioners that the shortage of surveyors available to administer this legislation had to be addressed and the Faculty was born out of this national need for education and support for surveyors but also to enhance awareness and provide advice and guidance to the general public.
Speaking about the forum, Chris, who is supported in his new role by Gavin Stewart (secretary), Colin Bell (treasurer) and Neil Cunningham (regional director) said: “The objective of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors is to promote the highest standards of professional practice in this field of expertise and to expand the knowledge and study of all matters to do with party walls, to encourage the exchange of information and ideas amongst its Members.
“I am delighted to take up the position of chair and look forward to hosting quarterly forum meetings and sharing knowledge and industry updates with our members.”
