Legal eagles rack-up funds for charity coffers
Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors has bolstered the coffers of two Lancashire charities after raising almost £2,500 from a business quiz night.
WHN joined forces with 80 people from across the Bury and Rossendale business community to pit their wits against challenging questions at The Red Hall Hotel in Bury. The event was a huge success, racking-up a total of £2,430 for The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity and Aching Arms.
The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity is a Bury-based charity which provides support to children and their families with brain tumours and post-surgery disabilities, while Aching Arms provides support to bereaved families after the loss of their baby.
Blücher, a producer of drainage and pressure systems, scooped the winner’s trophy after notching up an impressive 58 points, while Kings Chambers came second and Financial Options placed third.
Sara Beaumont, partner at WHN, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that our first charity quiz was such great success, with 20 teams getting together to take part on the evening.
“It is great to have raised so much for two extremely worthy causes and we are already talking about next year’s event – we’re hoping the quiz will become a permanent annual event in our fundraising calendar.”
