Manchester United strike Ecuadorian deal
Manchester United have struck a new global partnership with South American firm Banco Guayaquil.
As part of the deal, which gives Banco Guayaquil exclusive financial services rights in Ecuador, the company will launch a new MUFC credit card offering customers access to club-related experiences.
Further, Banco Guayaquil will celebrate the partnership will a series of exclusive competitions and giveaways on social media, including a chance for Ecuadorian fans to get their hands on a signed United shirt.
Holders of the new club credit card will also unlock various in-store and online discounts, including at United’s megastores.
Richard Arnold, the club’s group MD, said of the partnership: “With more than 3m of our 37m South American fans coming from Ecuador, it was important that any partnership agreement there would be able to cater for those who enjoy the unique passion of Manchester United.
“We’re therefore delighted to have found Banco Guayaquil as a partner.”
He continued: “This partnership will help us to engage directly with our fans in Ecuador, bringing them closer to all things Manchester United.”
Manchester United, which earlier this month saw their last Premier League game of the season postponed following a bomb scare at Old Trafford, achieved revenues of £123m during Q3 of their current financial year, up 30% from the same period in 2015.
