Online divorce tool proves an instant success
A NEW free online divorce tool launched by Sheffield’s SSB Law is proving an instant success.
More than 20 completed forms were submitted in the first week alone after the service was introduced.
Partner Angela Lally, who heads SSB Law’s divorce and family law team, said the online service was another addition to the company’s drive to reduce the cost of legal services and make them more accessible.
“Marriage is a legal contract and in order to end that contract you have to ask, or petition, the court to dissolve it,” she explained.
“To do so you have fill out a form called a divorce petition but the SSB Law free divorce petition tool guides users through a series of questions and answers, completing the parts of the form particular to the user needs and ignoring the others.
“At the end of the process the user downloads to completed form in PDF format, meaning that amendments can be made if required.
“At such a stressful time completing long legal forms can be daunting but this new tool is designed to make the process easier.
“We offer a wide range of low cost fixed fees to supplement the divorce petition tool meaning that people can buy the legal services that they need - straightforward legal advice that doesn’t cost the earth.”
Over the coming months SSB Law will be launching further online products of their own and in conjunction with other technology service providers, widening the range of options available to their customers.
