Hull FC and housebuilder team up for rugby
Hull FC Community Foundation and local housebuilder Barratt Homes teamed up on Wednesday 18th May to hold a community festival for local primary schools in Hull. The festival, which took place on Barratt Homes’ Liberty Green development, saw nearly 100 children from eight primary schools taking part in a number of touch rugby games, which were organised as part of the Sky Try Programme.
James Price, Community Manager at Hull FC Community Foundation, commented:
“The Schools Community Festival at Liberty Green was a great success, and it was fantastic to see so many schools from the local area being able to take part in the sport. At Hull FC one of our aims is to inspire the next generation to be active and engage in sporting activities, so it was great to be able to invite the schools down to enjoy rugby together. We would like to extend a special thanks to Barratt Homes for allowing us to use the Liberty Green development pitches and making this event possible.”
Paul Hogan, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Yorkshire East, added:
“Barratt has had a presence in Hull for a number of years now, and we are always looking to engage with the communities we develop in as well as building homes. We were more than happy to extend the invitation to Hull FC to hold the Schools Community Festival at our Liberty Green development, and were glad to see how much success the event had in bringing together schools from the local area.”
