Promising signs of growth within the services sector
Mark Simsey-Durrant, Chief Executive Officer at Hampshire Trust Bank, responds to the rise seen in today’s Markit Services PMI:
“Today’s rise shows there are some promising signs of growth in the services sector. Businesses are facing a number of challenges due to the current environment of economic and political uncertainty. Often firms look to scale back in times such as these. However, we believe this is not a long-term trend and the fact the PMI is above 50 indicates there is growth within the sector. We urge all types of businesses to not lose confidence and continue to invest for growth in the second half of the year.”
