Co-working space embraces Britain’s summer sporting season

Workplace Manchester offering members live screenings of Euros, Wimbledon and Rio 2016

Professional co-working space Workplace, has announced plans to embrace the summer of sport by offering its members free screenings of all the sporting action scheduled over the next few months.

Many of the city’s freelancers struggle to resist the temptation of turning on the TV to catch the first fixtures of the day when working from home, but at Workplace they can enjoy every event from the Euros to the Olympics in the professional surroundings of its business lounge and communal working areas.

Workplace’s meeting suite will also be available to hire for those looking to engage colleagues and staff in a bit of friendly sportsmanship by hosting a team viewing of one of the many events in this summer’s sporting hat-trick.

Jane Schofield, director of Workplace, commented: “Our aim is to ensure that all of our members feel as comfortable working here as they do at home, but with the addition of professional business facilities to make each working day as enjoyable as possible. Our members have already been talking about what’s to come over the summer, so we thought why not let them watch it all while they’re here.

“We offer complimentary refreshments to all of our members and guests, so we hope that by showing a variety of sports it will encourage members to work productively here, rather than perhaps getting distracted if they were working from home. We’re a nation that loves to get behind our country whether we’re winning or losing, we think it’ll create a great atmosphere in the office and boost productivity too.”

Directors Jane Schofield, Louise Pollard and Adrian Stevenson are also planning a few themed treats for members such as complimentary strawberries and cream for Wimbledon and a glass of wine, bottled beer or ice cream to enjoy with the Euros.
