Nunthorpe schoolboy shows his support in design competition
11 year old Curtis Johnson from Rosewood Academy has won a competition for a mascot he designed for the Euros to be printed and displayed at a local housing development. Pupils from the school have shown their support for the England football team by designing mascots to wish the team good luck ahead of this year’s Euros. Working with David Wilson Homes North East, Curtis’ winning design has been printed and displayed on flags at the nearby Grey Towers Village development on Dixons Bank, Nunthorpe.
Following a number of submissions from the school, the winning design was chosen, with Curtis visiting Grey Towers Village on Dixons Bank to see his design take pride of place at the development. Curtis was also given a £20 Toys ’R Us voucher for winning the competition.
Steve Ball, Sales Manager at Grey Towers Village, commented:
“We opened up this competition in May and have had so many entries, it’s been great fun for everyone involved. We always try and engage with local schools as much as we can and it was a pleasure to see all of the designs the pupils came up with. It was a tough choice, but we had to choose a winner and we’re all proud to be supporting the England team this summer.”
Overlooked by Roseberry Topping and the Cleveland Hills, Grey Towers Village is a superbly located development in Nunthorpe. This highly regarded area offers a range of shops, schools and leisure amenities, with popular market towns of Guisborough, Stokesly and Yarm nearby.
