NetDespatch and E-bikes help commuters go green
Marlow, 30th June 2016 – E-Bikes Direct is now using NetDespatch’s fully automated despatch solution to speed up its order fulfilment and despatch process, putting more eco-friendly electric bikes on the road to help reduce traffic congestion as well as improving the fitness levels of commuters.
E-Bikes Direct has streamlined its order-to-despatch with an automated solution from NetDespatch to deal with its online orders placed via the company’s own website, in addition to their online Marketplaces including Amazon, eBay and Halfords, as well telephone sales and orders placed at the company’s showroom in Bodiam, East Sussex.
Prior to NetDespatch, E-Bikes Direct had to manually input a proportion of its order details, which was time consuming and prone to transcription errors. “NetDespatch has made the process more efficient, and the time saved has enabled our staff to assume other responsibilities,” said Ian Paton, Business Development Manager, E-Bikes Direct.
From a handful of electric bikes bought in China in 2005, E-Bikes Direct has grown into the biggest online e-bike retailer in the market, selling electric bikes as well as bicycles, BMX’s, tricycles and all cycle related accessories. The company offers a wider selection of electric bikes than any of its competitors, with choices ranging from the budget beating Byocycles City Speed electric bike at less than £600 to the state of the art Haibike at just under £8,600.
The market for electric bikes continues to grow, with consumers wanting to do their bit to save the environment, improve their health, and avoid the cost of running their own car or the inconvenience of relying on public transport for city commutes. The use of electric bikes is encouraged by government, with its Ride to Work Schemes, offering tax concessions for employers and employees. E-Bikes Direct helps to alleviate the cost of obtaining an electric bike by working closely with all of the available Ride to Work Schemes and offering free delivery for UK Mainland deliveries through their carrier, Wilsons Express Same Day Limited.
“Implementation of the solution was trouble free and the assistance provided by the NetDespatch Support Team was excellent,” added Paton. “The whole system was installed and configured remotely, and we immediately reaped the rewards of having a faster and more efficient despatch process.”
NetDespatch enables more than 130,000 businesses to streamline their shipping processes through seamless integration with parcel carriers such as APC Overnight, Royal Mail, Yodel and UK Mail.
