Manchester Gateley Plc raises over £7,500 for charity

The Manchester office of national law firm, Gateley Plc, has raised £7,549.47 for Alzheimer’s Society.

Numerous fundraising events were held during a 12 month period from energetic events like the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk and the Great Manchester Run, to more festive fundraiser’s, including a colourful Christmas Jumper’s Day

The firm raised over £1900 when a team led by Real Estate partner Rod Waldie, took part in the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk at Heaton Park in September.

Almost £1400 of the overall amount was raised by ‘Team Gateley’ who ran the Great Manchester Run for Alzheimer’s Society. ‘Team Gateley’ consisted of Rebecca Armstrong, Rachael Bentley, Ffion Brumwell-Hughes, John Burns, Oona Cassidy, Joanne Cutt, Hannah Edmondson, Kim Findlow, Lynne Hesketh, Simon Maddox, Katie Porter, Hannah Serene, Abigail Sowden, Alexandra-Lee Tennick and Leigh Whittaker.

Rod Waldie, Head of Gateley’s Manchester office, commented: “I am proud of the office for raising such a fantastic sum of money for an incredible charity in Alzheimer’s Society. The Society does a lot of great work in the North West and provides a valuable service, and at Gateley we are committed to supporting the communities in which we work.”

Alzheimer’s Society are the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, who work for those affected by any form of dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They provide practical and emotional support, as well as information to those affected by dementia.

Steph Larkin, Community Fundraiser for Greater Manchester at Alzheimer’s Society, said: “We would like to thank Gateley Plc for their fantastic donation. We have over 3,000 community-based services across the UK, and we rely on donations from firms like Gateley and generous individuals, to ensure we can keep these open.”

Along with Gateley’s Manchester office, the firm’s Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester and London offices also fundraised for Alzheimer’s Society, raising over a combined £25,000.

Gateley Plc, which last year became the first law firm in the UK to go public, recently revealed that it expected revenues to hit at least £66m for its 2015/16 financial year in a trading update for the 12 months to 30 April 2016.
