intu properties plc, owners of the 1.35m sq ft intu Eldon Square development, has appointed Knight Frank as joint agent to let 40,000 sq ft of offices at Eldon Court which are a coherent part of the development.
Patrick Matheson, partner, office agency, Knight Frank says the development is the beating heart of retail in Newcastle, one of the UK’s best retailing destinations. “The most recent re-styling of the scheme is breath-taking befitting one of the largest city centre shopping development in the UK. We are delighted to have been appointed to let the office element which sits on two floors,” says Mr. Matheson.
“Access is via the central Mall which of course is well served by public transport through the Metro and adjacent bus stations. We believe a business operation such as a call centre would find the space absolutely right given accessibility for staff and the facilities offered by the intu Eldon Square location. The offices are a hidden gem and our instruction is extremely timely given the shortage of office supply in the city centre.
“Occupational costs will also be attractive, flexible leases packages available and given the location, which must be a major attraction for staff and recruitment in general, we are confident that there are occupiers out there looking for just this sort of office space. The 20,000 sq ft floor-plates, which are almost column free, are the largest presently available in the city centre, but they are also very flexible and can also split to create a variety of suites from as little as 1,000 sq ft. “
